Council Supports Worthy Cause – Bowel Cancer Awareness Month

23-06-2025

Council is proud to support a worthy cause, having raised $140 through donations from both employees and Councillors for Bowel Cancer Awareness Month!

June is Bowel Cancer Awareness Month, with Wednesday, the 18th, recognised as Red Apple Day, aimed at raising awareness about the impact of this disease.

In 2024 alone, an estimated 17,000 Australians were diagnosed with bowel cancer, and tragically, more than 5,000 people lost their lives to this illness, making it the second deadliest cancer in the country.

However, if bowel cancer is detected early, it can be successfully treated, allowing patients and their families to enjoy a healthy life.

Council invites the community to join in supporting this vital cause. Ribbons are available for purchase at Councils Crookwell office, with all proceeds going to support bowel cancer awareness initiatives.
