Council’s Multi Sport Fitness zone at Coleman Park

16-02-2026

With a few weeks left of warm weather, why not try out Council’s Multi Sport Fitness zone at Coleman Park. February highlights Heart Health Awareness Month, a timely reminder to get yourself checked and to not fall into the statistics. Research from Heart Foundation Australia shows that heart disease is the leading cause of death in Australia, affecting thousands of families and communities every year.

The shire is a hub of sport and recreational opportunities right at your fingertips with residents now being able to tap into the trifecta of a swim, cycle and run. Users can now take some time to swim a few laps at the co-located Crookwell pool, cycle a few kilometers on the latest Kompan fitness bike(s) and finish it off with a short run.

The 5 Kompan Fitness Bikes were installed at the end of 2025 after Council was successfully awarded funding in 2022 through Office of Sport by the NSW Government. The bikes are simple to use for all ages and abilities, with pedal resistance just like an indoor exercise bike.

Users can also access a digital personal trainer through the Kompan Fitness App, accessible by scanning the QR code found on the equipment. This online exercise guide will demonstrate how to use the equipment, provides set workouts and will keep you motivated.

Use the Kompan Fitness App to:

  • See videos of exercises for all types of equipment
  • Get workouts for different goals and levels
  • Find the nearest fitness site on the map
  • Connect to cardio equipment and save your data in Google Fit or Apple Health

All Bikes are adjustable and interactive and come with a touchscreen. Users can connect their mobile phones or tablets to the cardio machines via bluetooth. This will provide instant feedback on speed, distance, cadence, watts, and calories burnt. Through the KOMPAN Fitness App users can also use their smart devices to adjust resistance (10 levels) manually, and view instructional and motivational videos, store and share activity data online.

Separate to the Bikes, a Combi 4 fitness station was also installed with an incline bench, parallel bars, push up bar, decline press, Swedish ladder, pull up station and steps.

The Bikes and fitness station are an initiative of Upper Lachlan Shire Council to create a Multi-Sport and Community precinct at the Crookwell Aquatic and Visitor Information Centre.

*All cardio equipment is free for the community to use, with safe age recommendations of 13 years for the Bikes, and 8 years for the Combi 4 Fitness Station.
