Crookwell Carols in the Park and Street Markets Brings Community Together for a Festive Night Out

08-12-2025

Crookwell came alive on Saturday evening as families, friends and visitors gathered for this year’s Carols in the Park and Street Markets, held in partnership with the Upper Lachlan Gazette and Crookwell IGA. From 4pm to 8pm, the community enjoyed a vibrant mix of festive entertainment, local stallholders and late-night shopping in a welcoming and cheerful atmosphere.

Although the weather threatened earlier in the day, the rain and wind held off, allowing everyone to enjoy a great evening outdoors. Upper Lachlan Shire Council coordinated all event logistics, including road closures and market operations, while our event partners delivered a fantastic line-up of stage entertainment enjoyed by all ages.

Santa made a highly anticipated appearance, delighting children with photos and festive cheer. The event was MC by Deputy Mayor Rob Cameron and also attended by local MP Wendy Tuckerman, Federal MP Michael McCormack, and the CEO of Upper Lachlan Shire Council Alex Waldron, who enjoyed the evening with their families.

Local businesses embraced the festive spirit, extending their hours and welcoming shoppers for some relaxed late-night Christmas buying. The strong turnout, happy crowds and enthusiastic community participation showcased the best of Crookwell’s spirit—supportive, connected and ready to celebrate together.

Upper Lachlan Shire Council thanks all partners, stallholders, performers and attendees for making the 2025 Crookwell Carols in the Park and Street Markets a standout success.
