The community’s recreational opportunities are ready to help you get your summer body and fitness on track. If you haven’t already why not try one of the new Kompan Fitness Bikes (3 City Bikes and 2 Sports Bikes) available at Coleman Park.
Kompan Fitness Bikes were winners of an Australian Good Design Award in 2022 for their durable strength for outdoors, simplicity to use for all ages and abilities, user friendly interaction points and strong focus on ergonomics. They use biomechanics and resistance mechanics just like indoor bikes and are designed to suit a beginner up to a world class athlete. When you pedal, resistance automatically adapts depending on pedalling speed.
All Bikes are adjustable and interactive and come with a touchscreen. Users can connect their mobile phones or tablets to the cardio machines via bluetooth. This will provide instant feedback on speed, distance, cadence, watts, and calories burnt. Through the KOMPAN Fitness App users can also use their smart devices to adjust resistance (10 levels) manually, and view instructional and motivational videos, store and share activity data online.
To complement the Bikes, Council has also installed a Combi 4 fitness station: an incline bench, parallel bars, push up bar, decline press, Swedish ladder, pull up station and steps. This recreational space will provide a complete street workout and callisthenics combination for training and competition.
The Bikes and fitness station are an initiative of Upper Lachlan Shire Council to create a Multi-Sport and Community precinct at the Crookwell Aquatic and Visitor Information Centre. All cardio equipment is free for the community to use, with safe age recommendations of 13 years for the Bikes, and 8 years for the Combi 4 Fitness Station.
