Upper Lachlan Shire Council will commence water meter reads across the Shire from next Tuesday 7 April 2026.
Residents/owners/occupants are reminded to please ensure that water meters are accessible to Council meter inspectors.
Please ensure clear pathways are available, especially if your meter is buried or hidden by vegetation or obstructed. Gates will need to be unlocked accordingly and if you have a dog that will restrict access please advise Council on 02 4830 1000 or via email [email protected] so a suitable time may be arranged or alternate solution.
Councils water team will be visiting close to 1385 properties in Crookwell, 85 in Dalton, 398 in Gunning and 221 in Taralga. This is a large body of work for Council’s water team and assistance from the community is appreciated whilst this occurs.
Please remember if you suspect you have a leak it is suggested to turn off all water affiliated services in your household and note the read on the meter. A suggestion is to do this before going to bed and to turn on again in the morning to allow enough time to see if it has increased whilst off. In the case it has increased, you may have identified a leak that you will need to have investigated with a plumber as soon as possible.
If readers are unable to access your property a letter will be left in your mailbox notifying the owner/tenant to take an image of the meter if able and send to [email protected]
