Upper Lachlan Shire Council advises that the Crookwell Visitor Information Centre will temporarily close for a short period as staff relocate into the new Visitor Information Centre at the Crookwell Aquatic Precinct and complete the final preparations ahead of its official opening.
The temporary closure marks an important milestone in one of Council’s most significant tourism infrastructure projects in recent years, with the new facility set to become a welcoming gateway to the Upper Lachlan region for many years to come.
Chief Executive Officer Alex Waldron said the transition represents the culmination of years of planning, investment and construction.
“We are incredibly excited to be entering the final stage of this landmark project. The new Visitor Information Centre will provide a modern, purpose-built facility that not only enhances the visitor experience but also better showcases the unique attractions, businesses and experiences our region has to offer.”
“As our current temporary premises are required for a new tenant, Council will be vacating the building while final preparations are completed at our new location. This brief closure will allow our team to carefully relocate displays, tourism resources and operational equipment, ensuring the new centre is ready to welcome both visitors and residents from day one.”
During the temporary closure, Council’s Visitor Experience team will continue to assist with tourism enquiries and Crookwell Caravan Park bookings by telephone on (02) 4832 1988.
Visitors are also encouraged to access tourism information via Council’s website and social media channels or contact Council’s Customer Service team for assistance.
Council appreciates the community’s patience during this short transition period and looks forward to welcoming residents and visitors through the doors of the new Visitor Information Centre very soon.
