Anzac Day commemorations in the Shire – 2023

The following are details of Anzac Day services and commemorations taking place across the Shire on Anzac Day. Please check locally for further details.

BIGGA

10:45am – March from Bigga Recreation Ground.
11:00am – Service at Memorial Hall, followed by a light lunch at The Federal Hotel.

BREADALBANE

Breadalbane Hall
8:00am – Includes a special mini biography flag for every name on the wall, and wreath laying.

CROOKWELL

5:00am – Gunfire Breakfast Crookwell Services Club.
5:30am – Assemble at Club, march to Memorial Park.
6:00am – Dawn Service Memorial Park.
10:30am – Assemble at club, march to Memorial Park.
11:00am – Commemorative Service. CWA will have tea & coffee in the CWA rooms after the service.
12:40pm – seated for lunch at 1:00pm at the RSL Sub Branch.
4:00pm – Traditional Two-Up.

RAAF fly-over planned – most likely by a C130 Hercules Transport from 37 Squadron RAAF. Time and other details to be advised.

GRABBEN GULLEN

Within the grounds of the Grabben Gullen Community Recreation Hall.
9.00 am – wreath laying followed by a light morning tea.

GUNNING

5:45am – Dawn Service at the Showgrounds near the Shire Hall followed by Gunfire Breakfast.
10:40am – Veterans March.
11am – Day Service at the Gunning Cenotaph, Warrataw Street.

This year Gunning is honoured to host members of Australia’s Federation Guard as a Catafalque Party. The Australian Federation Guard is the Australian Defence Force’s official tri-service ceremonial unit.

TARALGA

5:30am – Dawn Service Cenotaph opposite Taralga Hotel.
12:30pm – Lunch at Taralga Sports Club (bookings essential 4840 2088).
2:30pm – March starting from the Argyle and Taralga Hotels.

TUENA

11am – Service at Cenotaph followed by lunch in the hall afterwards.
