Changes to bulky waste procedures from 8 November 2022

03-11-2022

From 8 November 2022 Council will cease accepting Bulky waste at its Rural Waste Transfer Stations.

These sites will however continue to accept all of the other waste types previously accepted at that site, with the exception of bulky waste and furniture.

Bulky waste items will continue to be accepted at the Crookwell Waste Transfer Station on all days of operation. The costs to dispose of these items will continue to be charged at the advertised rate, a copy of Council’s Fees and Charges is available on Council’s website or at the Waste Management Centres.

Council will run two bulky waste amnesty days at the rural Waste Transfer stations located at Taralga, Gunning, Collector, and Bigga where bulky waste will be accepted free of charge, with the first bulky waste amnesty day planned around Clean up Australia Day.

Signs advising the changes will be erected at each of the Waste Transfer Stations and the changes to this service will be reviewed in 12 months, as per the Council resolution.

There’s been some confusion within the community as to what will be accepted at each of the Rural Waste Transfer Stations so a breakdown of each Rural Transfer Stations accepted items and hours of operation are detailed below,” said Director of Environment and Planning Alex Waldron.
