Council biosecurity staff answer questions at Gunning Library

05-07-2022

Upper Lachlan Shire Council biosecurity staff were recently on hand in the Gunning Library to answer questions and identify weeds for members of the community.

This is the first of a number of question and answer drop-in sessions aimed at education and assistance rather than enforcement.

Director of Environment and planning Alex Waldron said it was great to see such a large turnout of people interested in biosecurity.

“It was insightful for Council to learn what biosecurity means to different members of the community,” she said.

“We will be holding more sessions in different locations throughout the Shire and I encourage anyone with questions to show up and have a conversation. Our staff are enthusiastic and knowledgeable and are keen to share what they can.”

Council was supported by a representative from NSW Local Land Service.

  • Next drop-in session hosted at Crookwell Library on 21 July between 11am and 4pm. No need to book, just show up with weed in hand or your questions at the ready.
