MAAC public presentation and update meeting on 21 February 2022

Residents and ratepayers will be able to find out more about the progress of the Multipurpose Aquatic and Activity Centre (MAAC) at a presentation meeting at the Crookwell RSL at 6pm on Monday 21 February 2022.

After the decision to replace the existing Pool and amenities facilities, Council undertook an extensive community engagement process during 2020/2021 that included six face to face meetings with designated user groups and a survey on the Have your Say website that gave the broader community an opportunity to participate.

The survey elicited the strongest response to any survey undertaken by Council in recent years and the result was overwhelming support for an outdoor pool, an indoor heated pool and a toddler’s pool.

Council General Manager Colleen Worthy said the presentation on the night of Monday 21 February would provide updates on the scope of the project and an expected timeline for completion.

“Throughout the course of the project construction, Council has provided written information about the MAACs progress through articles in the local news outlets, both paper and radio, on Councils website, through social media and Council business papers,” she said.

“Councillor Jo Marshall suggested the idea of a more detailed presentation, and I think that’s a great idea to keep the community in the loop.”

Mrs Worthy said the presentation will also allow members of the public to ask questions about the Centre, and the progress to date of construction.

“As it stands, we are on target to deliver the MAAC by November 2022, and I’m really excited to share more information about this amazing community facility.”

People interested in attending do not need to register but will need to abide by the relevant COVID-related safety measures.
