New access keys for sports fields and facilities

17-11-2022

Upper Lachlan Shire Council is rolling out a new security system across the shire for all sporting fields and some council buildings.

The new key system is designed to allow Council’s on-call staff to access the buildings after hours to assist with facilities that are being used and maintained to the highest standard. They will also stop unauthorised access and prevent vandalism. All existing padlocks will be removed and upgraded to the new system in the coming months.

The keys to access the sporting fields will be available at the Council Offices and keys will need to be signed out and returned at the end of a booking/season.

Director of Environment and Planning Alex Waldron said that, to facilitate a smooth transition, Council will be contacting user groups and sports clubs with further information in the next few weeks to provide details on how the process will work.

Council will continue to work with these groups regarding this process and provide this information at the time of booking to help improve the current system.

Anyone keen to find out more is encouraged to contact Council’s Parks, Gardens and Biosecurity Coordinator, Sam Morris on 4830 1000.
