New vehicle to carry the load for Council’s heavy machinery

Council recently purchased a new tri-axle low loader from Midland Trailers in Parkes.

The new vehicle has improved payload (load limit) and safety features compared to Council’s old low loader that was purchased in 2005 and has since been retired and sold.

The low loaders are used to transport Council’s plant and equipment to different work sites in the Shire if they have to go long distances.

General Manager Colleen Worthy said that low loaders tend to have a long service life, with the last one in service for around 17 years.

“These pieces of equipment are essential for getting our heavy machinery from place to place,” she said.

“This new one offers greater safety and payload than its predecessor and will be welcomed by operators and staff.”
