Recognising our Australia Day Award winners 2012

Mayor John Shaw with Shire Citizen of the Year, Ken Fleming, and Australia Day Ambassadors Judy Nunn and Bruce Venables.

Australia Day is celebrated throughout the community with barbecues, sports competitions, festivals and the awards.

The awards are an integral part of the day because they recognise and honour the outstanding achievement of not only the country’s high profile Australians, but also those who have done so much at a local level.

The Upper Lachlan Shire is blessed with a wealth of citizens willing to volunteer their time for the betterment of our communities.

This year’s list of nominees is a testimony to that fact.
