08-02-2024

Information supplied by Transport for NSW.

What are we doing?

We will be upgrading the existing crossing to a raised crossing on Goulburn Street between Roberts Street and Spring Street at Crookwell.

Work will include replacing and raising the crossing and building out the existing kerbs.

To improve pedestrian safety in this area, the speed limit on Goulburn Street between Roberts Street and Colyer Street will be reduced to 40km/h and new signage will be installed.

Work will be carried out from Monday 12 February for two weeks, weather permitting.

Goulburn Street between Roberts Street and Colyer Street will be closed to all vehicles from 7am on Friday 16 February to 4am on Saturday 17 February and from 7am on Monday 19 February to 4am on Tuesday 20 February.

Outside of road closure times, Goulburn Street will be open to traffic and work will be carried out during the day between 7am and 5pm, Monday to Friday only, weather permitting.

Pedestrian access to near by businesses will be maintained during work.

How will this work affect you?

There will be some noise associated with this work.

We will make every effort to minimise noise and complete this work as quickly as possible.

During work up to 12 parking spaces surrounding the work area will be unavailable. Parking will be reinstated upon completion of this work.

From Friday 23 February the speed limit will drop from 50km/h to 40km/h on Goulburn Street between Roberts Street and Colyer Street.

Message boards will be onsite two weeks before and one week following the speed zone reduction, to notify motorists of the changed speed limit.

Traffic Impacts

During road closures, heavy vehicle detours will be in place via Colyer Street, Findhorn Street, Saleyards Road and Laggan Road.

Detours for light vehicles will be in place via Colyer Street and Robertson Street.

Outside of road closure times, single lane closures and a reduced speed limit of 40 km/h will be in place for the safety of workers and all road users.
