Speed display units going up across the Shire

24-08-2023

Over the next few weeks, speed display units will be in place at all of the villages and towns in the Upper Lachlan Shire.

Five speed display units are already on display (one each at Gunning, Dalton, Grabben Gullen, Crookwell and Laggan) and 17 more have just been delivered to be installed in coming weeks.

“These 22 speed display units are to be displayed at either end of the 11 villages and towns in the Upper Lachlan Shire,” Acting CEO Andrew Croke said.

“They will be installed where speed limits reduce from 100km to 50km and their purpose is to give drivers clear and timely feedback regarding their speed, encouraging them to reduce their speed to the signposted 50 km/h speed limit as they drive into our villages.”

Mr Croke said that the display signs will be solar-powered and are expected to be in place within the next two months.

Two speed display units will be installed at each of the following villages:

Binda, Bigga, Breadalbane, Collector, Crookwell, Dalton, Grabben Gullen, Gunning, Laggan, Taralga, and Tuena.
