Council are aware of an error in processing of a water billing account to a local resident of the Shire.
Council are sincerely apologetic for this oversight and issuing of an incorrect water billing calculation based on an erroneous water meter read.
Council has offered an unreserved apology to the resident and will rectify this error immediately and reverse the transaction.
Council internal processes and variance checking will be reviewed and updated to ensure there is no future reoccurrence of this type of billing error.
