Council is continuing to carry out works on the Gunning Showground Oval with further topdressing and levelling being carried out last week.
Council has already carried out substantial works in raising the lower eastern corner of the field to help alleviate the water pooling problem.
The benefit can already be seen after the rainfall on Wednesday 29 March when the water was dispersed further across the oval and had dried out considerably by Friday.
Council is now adding a further 70 tonnes of topdressing material to the oval to allow better playing conditions for sporting club use.
Further improvements to the showground will continue over the next 12 months in an effort to promote more use for community groups and draw in events from outside the shire.
