Changed traffic conditions on the Hume Highway near Breadalbane and Bowning
Motorists are advised of changed traffic conditions on the Hume Highway from next week near Breadalbane and Bowning for essential maintenance work.

At Breadalbane, resurfacing work will be carried out on a two-kilometre-long section of the northbound lanes of the Hume Highway between Cullerin Road and the Federal Highway intersection.  

Work will be carried out weekdays between 6.30am and 4pm from Monday 11 November for up to three weeks, weather permitting.  

Single lane closures, a reduced speed limit of 40 km/h and stop/slow traffic control will be in place for the safety of workers and road users.

At Bowning, work involves installing crossovers between the northbound and southbound travel lanes at two locations, 700 metres and five kilometres west of the Bowning Road intersection, to enable future maintenance work on the road. 

Work will be carried out weekdays from 7am to 6pm and Saturdays from 8am to 1pm, when required, from Monday 11 November and is expected to take up to five weeks to complete, weather permitting.

Single lane closures and traffic control will be in place on the northbound and southbound lanes, including a reduced speed limit of 40 km/h for the safety of workers and road users.

Motorists are advised to drive to the conditions, allow an extra five minutes’ travel time and follow the directions of signs and traffic control at both locations.
