ULSC attends Crookwell High School’s Careers Expo

09-11-2023

Last Friday, Upper Lachlan Shire Council attended the Career’s Expo hosted by Crookwell High School. Aimed at igniting the aspirations and dreams of hundreds of young locals, the event was a resounding success.

Crookwell High School, pulled out all the stops to organize a careers expo that was as informative as it was inspirational. The event drew students not only from the school itself but from neighbouring schools as far as Wee Jasper, eager to explore their future possibilities.

Upper Lachlan Shire Council brought along a small group of Team Members, who were able to provide valuable insights into a variety of career opportunities available at Council. These representatives shared information about their own experience gaining a nationally recognised qualification while working at Council. Demonstrating the real benefit of being able to work in the Community that you live.

One of the highlights of the expo was the array of interactive demonstrations. There were plenty of hands-on activities allowing attendees to not just hear about careers but get a sense firsthand, providing a taste of what their future could hold.

“It’s incredibly important to help our young people connect with their passions and interests,” said Ms Alex Waldron, Chief Executive Officer. “We want to show the world of opportunities at their fingertips and that there are many different paths to success. The Careers Expo provides an essential platform to inspire, inform, and guide our students toward fulfilling careers.”

For the young attendees who flocked to the event, it was an opportunity to see the career possibilities that lay ahead of them and to be inspired by the success stories of those who have gone before. The success of the Careers Expo at Crookwell High School would not have been possible without the dedication and hard work of the school’s staff, volunteers, and the support of the local community.

Congratulations to Charlie Clements from Year 7 at Crookwell High School, who was the winner of the “Guess the Lollies” competition.
