Update on Laggan Road rehabilitation

15-06-2022

Roadworks and drainage repairs continue on Laggan Road.

The triple set of 1200mm pipe extensions were installed in late May.

“This was a very awkward and dirty job due to the prevailing wet conditions,” said Construction Co-ordinator, Chris Hart.

“The crew deserve credit for the work they did in these conditions.”

Mr Hart reported that, at that stage, the work crew has ripped up approximately 1.4km of existing road.

“It was very tough on the grader and operator as there were stabilized sections and a very hard sub-grade material,” he explained.

“We’ve now started gravelling the ripped sections to keep a safe trafficable road when we leave the site. We are still tracking to be completed by 24 June 2022, weather permitting.”
