Upper Lachlan Shire – Roving Art Exhibition

Upper Lachlan Shire Council is about to embark on an exciting, new community initiative, The Roving Art Exhibition.  As many would know Council holds in  trust for the community many excellent art works. These are to be found at Council premises and the Crookwell Art Gallery. A selection of these works will go ‘on the road’ and visit a number of community and memorial halls in our villages across our Shire. As well as giving communities an opportunity to admire these art works we are encouraging local artists and creatives to also exhibit their works, hold workshops or other event to make this special.

To date we have:

Dalton

 23-25 August, Friday night opening with drinks and canapés $10

Open 10- 4 Saturday and Sunday.  Coffee and cake available at the historic Royal Hotel.

Tuena

31 August-1 September

On Saturday,  book in for an Alcohol Ink painting class with Gabe Saville or a Xmas Wreath making class with Lesley Hall.

The Tuena Cafe and Craft Shop will be open all weekend.

Local artists on display include Ron Ellem, Kath Hogan and Gabrielle Saville.

Bigga

2 November-3 November

Local artists, craft store and more.

This weekend coincides with the Crookwell Garden Festival including the famous Edna Walling garden at Markdale, just a short trip from Bigga.

Breadalbane

 9 November-10 November.

The Roving Art Exhibition will continue on next year with Taralga, Gunning and Collector. We would like to thank the various Hall Committees,  the Taralga Art Show and the Crookwell Art Gallery and Southern Tablelands Arts for their assistance.
