Works Update – 13 December 2023

The following are roadworks commenced, completed or continued in the week ending 15 December, and those which were scheduled for the week ending 22 December 2023.

Week ending Fri 15 December 2023:

Contract Works:

  • Bitumen Sealing of Bigga Road has now been complete. Line marking of centreline to be complete early 2024.
  • Bitumen Sealing of Roslyn Road has been complete. Line marking to be complete early 2024.

MR 54:

  • MR54 – Heavy patching completed between Alison Hone Reserve and Woodhouselee Road. The road is now open in both directions with speed restrictions removed.

Week ending Fri 22 December 2023:

Construction crews:

  • Wheeo Road Upgrade nearing completion – the section between Bertalba Road and Hawthorne’s Tree Road is being prepared for seal expected early in 2024.
  • 1.5km of Dalton Road upgrade project to be sealed this week with remainder of project to be complete by Feb 2024.
  • Court Street Taralga rehab is nearing completion, this street was severely damaged with wet weather over the past 12 months, pavement and drainage works are nearly finished. Council plan to let the works settle over the next month and finalise with a new bitumen seal early 2024.

Maintenance Crew:

  • Drainage works on Fish River Road

Maintenance Grading Crew:

  • Maintenance Grading of Turkey Hill Road and Foggs Crossing Road

Contract Works:

  • Heavy patching on MR52 (Crookwell – Gunning Road) underway with the hope of completing before Christmas break.
  • Sealing of Cullerin Road to continue from Grabben Gullen Road to Breadalbane.

MR54 Works:

  • Works are almost complete on the Natural Disaster / Slip area North of Tuena. Concrete behind the kerb will be completed on Tuesday 19th December 2023. The road is now open in both directions with speed restrictions removed.
  • Culvert replacement of 2 pipelines in Tuena Village. Almost complete with the culverts installed and only minor earthworks remaining to be completed 18th-20th December. The road is now open in both directions with speed restrictions in place when required.
  • Maintenance crew continue to attend to priority maintenance issues as they arise.
