Local Heritage Places Grants Program open for 2022/2023

21-09-2022

Upper Lachlan Shire Council has established a Local Heritage Places Grant Fund to provide grants to owners of heritage items or places of heritage significance within the Shire. The Program is proudly funded by Upper Lachlan Shire Council with funding from the NSW Government.

Owners or tenants are invited to apply for assistance under the Local Heritage Places Grants Program.

Priority for funding will be given to heritage items listed in Schedule 5 of the Upper Lachlan Local Environmental Plan 2010 (LEP).

Grant applications will close at 4.00pm Tuesday 11 October 2022 and all successful heritage fund projects must be completed by Friday 21 April 2023. For every $1 spent by the applicant, Council will supplement that amount with $1, up to the maximum grant amount, however successful applicants may provide their own additional funding to the project.

Funding cannot be provided if the specific project for which the funding has been applied for commenced prior to the grant funding approval being given.

Proposed projects should be discussed with Council’s Senior Town Planner, Mrs Dianne James, prior to submission of the application to ensure the proposal meets these guidelines and is appropriate for heritage conservation or restoration of the building or place.

With the support of NSW Department of Premier and Cabinet and the Heritage Council of NSW, Upper Lachlan Shire Council’s Local Heritage Places Grant Program proposes to consider grants on a dollar-for-dollar value basis from $300 to $7,000. Depending on the quality and number of applications, it is at Council’s discretion to offer differing amounts of grants.

The Local Heritage Places Grant Guidelines 2022-2023 (below) provide prospective applicants information about the scope, eligibility, requirements and selection criteria.
