Roadside verge weed control underway

15-09-2022

Upper Lachlan Shire Council was successful in securing $15,000 from Local Land Services to carry out roadside verge weed control for this spring season.

Council has engaged a contractor to carry out the task of roadside verge spraying who will be assisted by Council’s Biosecurity Officers.

Control work will begin in the Gunning area and move across the shire finishing in the Taralga area. Weather conditions will set the pace of the weed control, but we hope to finish by the end of September.

Council will also be targeting priority weeds on roadsides hoping to achieve a significant pushback of areas that have had small encroachments due to the wet weather seen over the last two years.

If you would like to find out more information on priority weeds or general weed control, please contact council biosecurity officers on 4830 1000.
