Kids of all ages have been enjoying lots of fun during the summer holidays at Shire Libraries! Those taking part in the Summer Reading Club have already read hundreds of books, taking home fun charms each week and putting themselves in the running for great prizes. The Club continues until the end of January, so keep reading and getting entries in.
Both Crookwell and Gunning Libraries have also hosted a range of activities. For teenagers Crookwell Library ran Warhammer and Dungeons & Dragons sessions, giving new players a taste of these tabletop games. Crookwell Library also ran a mini-beast mobile making activity and desktop basketball game, while Gunning Library had paint a suncatcher and make a wooden craft for the primary school aged kids. Both Libraries hosted the Travel Bugs mini-beast show, with lots of kids turning out to get up close and personal with leaf and stick insects, beetles, millipedes, and lots more!
Coming up there will be a great Australia Day craft table at Crookwell, drop in anytime in the last week of holidays, and at Gunning District Landcare we’ll be running a special Citizen Science walk! Visit the Library at 11am on Friday 30 January to take a walk with our Citizen Science kits down to the Gunning Showground Bushland Park. All ages are welcome, kids to be accompanied by an adult.
