This notice is to inform the Upper Lachlan community that on 1 July 2024, Cemeteries & Crematoria NSW introduced an interment service levy on burial and cremation services in the state. On 18 July 2024, Upper Lachlan Shire Council in its Ordinary Meeting approved a motion to apply the levy to customers from 18 August 2024. The levy would be as follows:
- cremation – $45.10
- ash interment – $69.30
- burial – $171.60
Funeral Directors will collect the levy on behalf of Council.
