There’s a lot happening across the Shire as we head into Christmas. Here are a lot of the events. If we’ve missed any, please let us know.

CROOKWELL TWILIGHT CHRISTMAS FAIR
Saturday 3 December – 4pm to 9pm
Goulburn Street and Memorial Park, Crookwell
Celebrate the wonders of Christmas & delight in the beautiful window displays while you shop up a storm with Late Night Shopping. You will find wonders galore in the twilight markets from businesses across the Shire and Region showcasing their produce and artisan wares. Witness the official opening of the lights & lighting of the town Christmas tree. There will be fun for the whole family with things to see and do with a Christmas Wonderland and Inflatable Fun Zone. Meet Santa, Elves, Hephner the Alpaca and more. Shop, eat, drink & be merry while listening to some cool tunes!

CROOKWELL LATE NIGHT LIBRARY Saturday 3 December and each Thursday night leading to Christmas – open until 7pm
Crookwell Library
Opening later in conjunction with Crookwell Late night shopping.

 

PET PHOTOS WITH SANTA Saturday 3 December  – 9am to 12pm

BIGGA GOLF CLUB KIDS CHRISTMAS PARTY
Saturday 10 December – Bistro open from 6.30pm
Bigga Golf Club
Santa is coming to the Bigga Golf Club. Get your children’s names on the list at the club or contact Sandra by messenger or email sandralmason@gmail.com by 4th December. Dinner for the children will be a sausage sizzle. Your child must be in attendance to receive their gift from Santa.

DALTON CHRISTMAS MARKETS & RUMMAGE SALE
Sunday 4 December – 9am to 1pm
Dalton Public Hall
The markets spotlight local producers and artisans with goods such as pottery, woodcraft, ironwork, honey and beauty products, bric-a-brac and second hand clothing and household items, BBQ breakfast available.

DALTON MOWER MUSTER
Sunday 4 December – 9am to 1pm
Dalton Public Hall
The Mower Muster big parade starts at 11am and prizes will be awarded for best-dressed rider and best pimped up mower. Registration of mowers to take place at the Dalton Post Office – cost $5.

BINDA COMMUNITY CAROLS
Saturday 10 December 2022 – 5.30pm to 8.30pm
Binda Memorial Hall
An activity of the Anglican parish of Binda. All donations on the night go to charity.
Includes music, dance, puppets, Christmas Story, Santa Visit and sing-along carols with the band plus Binda PS BBQ.

STREET & CLASSIC CAR TOY RUN
Sunday 11 December – 9.30am to 1pm

  • Gunning Courthouse (9.30-10am)
  • Crookwell Courthouse (10.30-11am)
  • Goulburn Courthouse (12.00-1pm)

Meet at Belmore Park at 8.30am or join at Gunning or Crookwell. New or good quality used toys/educational donations accepted to join the run. Spectator donations also gratefully accepted. All toys will be donated to Goulburn Family Support Service. Run organised by Goulburn Street & Classic Car Club.

UPPER LACHLAN SHIRE CAROLS IN THE PARK
Saturday 17 December – 6pm to 9pm
Memorial Park, Crookwell
Dancing, acrobatics and singing from Dauntless Crew, and singing by award-winning Catherine Britt (five-time Golden Guitar winner and six time ARIA nominee), and local performing duo Ebrentia Brits and Phil Fraser, with a special appearance by Santa.
 

GUNNING – FISH RIVER RFB SANTA RUN
Saturday 17 December – from 5pm
Gunning Fire Station
This year Santa will be coming to town with his Gunning RFS helpers. He will begin his tour from the Gunning Fire Station at 5pm to drive around the township. There will be stop points for those who live out of town – Meeting point to be confirmed. The live tracker will be running and a map will be out soon! RFS members will be ready with their water pistols (weather permitting). We cannot wait to see everyone!

LAGGAN CHRISTMAS VILLAGE MARKETS
Saturday 17 December – 9am to 1pm
Laggan Memorial Hall
Over 50 unique stalls. Local hand-crafted products, home-grown organic produce, BBQ breakfast and coffee and Tearoom open with home-made cakes, scones and sandwiches. BIGGA CHRISTMAS IN THE PARK
Sunday 18 December – from 6pm
Bigga Memorial Park
A simple gathering including a sausage sizzle. Cost $10. Organised by Bigga Progress Association.

 

CROOKWELL RSL MEMBERS KIDS CHRISTMAS PARTY
Sunday 18 December 2022 – from 10.45am
Crookwell Services Club
Featuring face painting, a magic show, a visit from Santa and a free gift. Maximum of two gifts per member, child must be 12 years or younger and must be in attendance to receive gift. The Club is taking bookings for Santa’s gift list until Monday 12 December and children’s names need to be entered to receive a gift. Table Bookings recommended – call 48321265.
