Upper Lachlan Shire Council will commence construction of a new footpath along Goulburn Road, Crookwell starting next Monday 20 July 2026, this is part of delivering improved pedestrian safety and connectivity for the community.
The project will provide approximately 220 metres of new footpath on both sides of Goulburn Road, creating safer access for pedestrians while strengthening connections within the town.
The works form part of Council’s Pedestrian Access and Mobility Plan (PAMP) and are funded under the NSW Government’s Road Safety Program – Walking and Cycling Infrastructure.
CEO Alex Waldron said the project demonstrates Council’s continued commitment to creating safer and more accessible pedestrian access ways. Projects like this help make our towns more accessible for people of all ages and abilities, while contributing to improved health and wellbeing outcomes.”
The new footpath will improve connectivity for residents and visitors to the sports fields, while encouraging walking as a safe and convenient way to travel around Crookwell. Construction is expected to continue through to September 2026, subject to weather conditions and site requirements.
To safely undertake the works, temporary lane closures and traffic management measures may be in place during construction. Motorists and pedestrians are asked to follow all signage, observe reduced speed limits and allow additional travel time where required.
