EXCITING DEVELOPMENTS AT THE NEW VISITORS INFORMATION CENTRE

16-05-2025

The community would have noticed a flurry of activity at the new Visitor Information Centre and Multi-purpose building at the Crookwell Pool site.

Following a significant increase in grant funding from the NSW Government, Council have been able to push ahead with the internal fit out to enable the building to be used by next summer.

The multi-purpose space, aimed at supporting the economic development of Upper Lachlan will house the visitor information centre and associated retail, exhibition space, office space for community hire, a café and multipurpose room for meetings, and functions.

The contractors and many different skilled subcontractors have been working daily, including weekends to complete the works as soon as possible. The insides are shaping up with the former shell now starting to look like a usable venue with electrical services, framing, door, ceiling and partitions and mechanical services all well under way.

While completion of construction is eagerly awaited, Council is proactively pursuing additional grant funding to support the development of an indoor heated pool and permanent amenities. These additions will elevate the center’s offerings, ensuring it becomes a cherished resource for our community and a must-visit spot for travelers.

Stay tuned for more exciting updates as we bring this vision to life.
