Since the Crookwell Pool opened, it has been buzzing with activity! In just the past three months, we’ve welcomed over 12,000 visitors, and local schools are lining up to host their annual swimming carnivals.

Recently, we had a fantastic turnout for the Small Schools Swimming Carnival, which featured four local schools. Families filled the stands, the sun was shining, and there was plenty of friendly competition and splashing around—what a perfect day!

This year’s carnivals truly highlighted our community spirit. Students from Bigga, Laggan, Taralga, and Binda schools participated, bringing excitement from the tiniest tots to the oldest swimmers. Everyone was eager to join in the fun, regardless of their swimming skills!

We also saw some future sports stars in action from Crookwell Primary School. Teams like Bluegum, Wattle, and Waratah jumped in, all inspired by the uplifting theme “Just Keep Swimming.” It was heartwarming to see everyone enjoying themselves!

Ellen Miners, a Classroom Teacher and Sports Coordinator at Crookwell Public School, shared her experience: “Using the Crookwell Pool for our swimming carnival this year was fantastic! We saved time on travel and had a fun-filled afternoon in a space our students are comfortable with, which really boosted their water confidence and participation.”

We invite all residents to take a dip at the pool while it’s free! The pool season wraps up in March, so come on by for some fun in the water before the colder weather sets in. We can’t wait to see you there!
