Since December last year, Upper Lachlan Shire Libraries have welcomed almost 50 new members across both the Crookwell and Gunning branches.
With computers available at both branches, the libraries are the perfect spot for students to study, complete assignments, and access digital resources that may not be available at home.
While library staff always ready to help visitors with a warm welcome, guiding patrons in research, recommending books, or assisting with technical questions, their commitment is reflected in visitors’ heartfelt comments: “Not sure what I would do if it wasn’t for you girls at the library, thank you for always helping me,” and “Thank you for your kindness, help, helpfulness & patience for all things literary.” These testimonials underscore the invaluable support that library staff provide to people of all ages.
The free community space is available to all members of the Shire. Bring your kids to enjoy story and rhyme time, where they can engage and sing along, or join a crafting program to learn new skills such as papercraft, knitting, crochet, or watercolour painting. The libraries also host special events throughout the year, such as author talks, holiday-themed activities, and reading challenges that encourage people of all ages to get involved. There’s truly something for everyone in the community, making the libraries a lively hub for creativity, learning, and social connection.
Whether you want to learn something new, study, keep the kids entertained, or simply find a quiet place to relax with a good book, visit your local library as hours of enjoyment await!
