Do you know someone who makes our community a better place?

It is that time of year again to consider nominating one of your fellow neighbours, community representatives or outstanding citizens who contribute to the Upper Lachlan Shire community.

Awards are presented annually by Upper Lachlan Shire Council in partnership with the Australia Day Council to promote and recognise outstanding examples of citizenship and achievement within the Shire. A selection committee assesses all nominations in strict confidence. The winners will be announced on 26 January 2025 as part of the Australia Day celebrations.

The awards acknowledges the unsung heroes of our community who through their contributions help share and create change to our region. This may include their contribution in areas such as the arts, education, health, charitable and voluntary services to business and sport. All these contribute to the advancement and well-being of a community.

Council CEO Alex Waldron said “The nomination for these awards are open until Wednesday 6 November 2024, they are an opportunity to recognise the significant contribution these citizens and organisations make to our community.”
